Care & Maintenance

Bamboo: The bamboo on HOUE collections comes from their sustainable gardens and is treated with a special saturation of oil from the factory to keep the wood looking beautiful. We recommend that you regularly oil the bamboo parts of your furniture to keep the beautiful sheen, or if you prefer a beautiful, soft grey, you can always let the wood age over time.

Powder Coated Steel: Should the product get scratched or damaged, the metal will begin to rust. To prevent the scratch from spreading, a repair lacquer can be used after any rust or loose paint is removed.

Laminate: Laminate is a plastic material that does not require any maintenance other than cleaning with a wet cloth. You may add a bit of dish soap to the water, but please avoid using any harsh detergents or solvents when cleaning the product.

Outdoor Fabric: Remove spots as soon as possible to get the best results. Spots from thick liquids or solids should be scraped off with a dull knife or spatula. Dry spots can be vacuumed to remove loose particles. Try this before any further treatment. Grease stains should be removed with a suitable stain remover. Test the product on an inconspicuous area first. Non-greasy spots should be dabbed with a cotton rag, only using warm water. Avoid soaking, as this may damage the material beneath the fabric.

Granite: Granite fades over time in the sunlight. We recommend maintaining the stone once per year to refresh its color. Make sure to bring granite topped pieces in during the winter; freezing temperatures can cause cracks and other damage to the natural stone.
